About the Journal
The purpose of the Ethiopian Journal of Theology is to advance the scholarly conversation in all theological disciplines. In pursuit of this aim, the journal will publish articles that are broadly evangelical in outlook and that are of interest to the theological community in Ethiopia. “Evangelical” is here understood to refer to the theological heritage from the Reformation as well as to a commitment to the authority of the Bible. The journal is published under the auspices of the Mekane Yesus Seminary.
The journal welcomes submissions that broadly fall within the disciplines of biblical studies, systematic theology, church history, missiology, and practical theology. Submissions may represent a diversity of perspectives, methods, and theological traditions. Studies of specific churches in Ethiopia are welcome, but authors must be able to relate such studies to the scholarly discussion outside Ethiopia.
